Mrs Judy Lea

Judy moved to Balsall
Common from Bridgnorth, Shropshire to be near her daughter and
family in July 2004. She was
very involved with the local community in Bridgnorth and was a
member of the Town (Parish) Council for 17 years and was twice
elected Mayor. Since moving to Balsall Common, she has joined
the Residents' Association and helps her husband with the local
Neighbourhood Watch scheme. She also helps out at the local
primary school, hearing children read.

Raymond joined the Council on 11 June
2007. Presently he works at Heart of England School and has worked in IT specialising in web technologies and design since the mid 1990s. He is a director of a local technology company.
He is married to Lesley and has four children and has a busy and active family life.
Raymond's interests are music, the visual arts, design, education and politics. |

Godfrey was elected to
the Parish Council in May 1991 and its Chairman between 1993 and
1998 and 2007 and 2009. He worked in the
British Motor industry for almost twenty years, latterly as Resident
Director for Talbot Motors in Tehran. Subsequently he
undertook various positions in local charitable organisations.
For seven years, until his retirement in June 2006, he was Bailiff
to the Foundation of Lady Katherine Leveson at Temple Balsall.
He is married to Linda who teaches
at Balsall Common Primary School. They have two sons, Peter
who is studying for an MSc in Real Estate and Management at the
University of Central England and Andrew who is studying Sports
Management at Coventry University.
Godfrey's interests include the
theatre, history, current affairs, country walks and the welfare of
his family and the wider community. |

James has been a
councillor since February 2005 and takes an active part in council
work. He has a financial background with professional
qualifications. He is a tree warden and has undertaken
voluntary work for the council and has been a resident in Balsall
Common for over 30 years. |

Dr Peter Lea

Peter was born in the
late 1930's and educated at King Edward Grammar School Five Ways in
Birmingham from 1949 to 1957. He qualified in medicine in 1962
at Birmingham Medical School and came to Balsall Common in 1964 to
do a 6 month locum but ended up staying as GP to Balsall, Berkswell
and Meriden for 39 years. He retired at 65 years old in
December 2003.
He has lived in Holly Lane for over
40 years where he lives with his wife, Pamela, who he married in
1964. He has four grown up children. He has been a
Balsall parish councillor since 1978, a governor of Balsall Primary
School since 1978 and a governor at Heart of England School since
1979. He has served continuously as Chairman of the Governors
at Heart of England School since 1980. Peter was elected as a
Solihull MBC Borough Councillor in 1987 and still serves as such.
He is the current chairman of the Lant Trust. Peter currently
works part-time as clinical tutor at Warwick Medical School.
Peter's interests are sport,
particularly rugby and squash, although he considers himself too old
to play now. His particular cross to bear is Parkinsons
Disease, which affects his mobility intermittently, but not his
ability to think or his sense of humour. |

Mike has been a resident of Balsall
Common for 40 years and a Balsall Parish Councillor for thirty of
those years. He served in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment for
three years. He is the Chairman of the Jubilee Centre and the
Chairman of Birmingham Airport Passenger Services and Public
Transport Working Group. |

2007. He has lived in Chadwick End since 2004, having
previously lived in Birmingham for 40 years.
Lionel is a retired Senior Lecturer in
Further Education and also former writer and broadcaster. |
